Are Really Millions of Years Old Fossils?

Have geologists not shown that the Planet is 4.5 billion years old, through scientific dating methods? Does not astronomy show that the universe must be billions of years old at least, because the lights of the closest stars must have taken billions of years to hit the earth? Do not all professional scientists, including geologists, believe in Darwinian evolution, and the planet and earth that are billions of years old? The easy reply is No”

Evolutionists and creationists have some integrated assumptions about understanding and using empirical evidence in the age of the earth. The dilemma is also the conclusions are more rational. Dating rocks isn’t a hard science (no pun intended). Check this resource for details information.

For eg, several times a radiometric date system makes an immense difference in age from a separate radiometric method used to date the same rock! The radiometric methods of dating were also badly flawed when examined in the historical age of certain rock. For eg, the potassium-argon method dated Hawaiian lava flows considered not to be over two centuries old to be three billion years old! There was a mistake (Science 141 [1963]: 634).

The explanations behind this massive difference are the expectations that no significant shifts in the Earth’s environment in the past could have changed the original concentrations and also the decline rates of the substances concerned (Industrial Research 14 [1972]: 15). If for example, a world-wide flood the Bible mentions in Genesis had truly happened, the original circumstances may have indeed changed to make a radiometric date less than to say the least, the exact science. The carbon-14 dating process is considered to be fifty percent reliable, but can be used only for thousands (not millions or billions) of years in the past.

As the question of the Earth’s age can be complex, a principal explanation for evolutionists who claim that the Earth is millions of years old is that they believe in the accumulation of fossil layers. What one thinks about the carbon deposition of the earth will ultimately decide one’s opinion of the age of the earth. Contrary to common opinion, radiometric dating does not determine the age of fossils.

For example, fossils of animals are created as animals are entered fast and under incredible pressure to protect their skeletons, remains and imprints on rock. If living organisms are not buried soon and under tremendous strain their bodies will not be stored or fossilized instead of rotting. Many of the thousands of fossils in the world are found in water-affected rocks (Sedimentary Rock). As a result, much of the billions of fossils evolved in the soil because of the rapid and fast burying of animals and plants under immense water pressure.

Evolutionary geologists conclude that the local geographical floods have deposited these animals and plants and preserved the fossils of them on the surface of the earth for several millions of years. That’s just one view.

Geologists who are creationists claim that a massive cataclysmic flood, better known as the Genesis Flood, has buried and preserved these creatures as fossils on earth. It would certainly not have taken too long if it were a worldwide storm to deposit these creatures and preserve them as fossils on Earth. But if small and restricted geographical flooding caused these fossils, it would in effect have taken several million years to create and settle billions of fossils into different layers across the world.

There are also many issues behind the fossils with the local flood hypothesis. Local floods are not even known to produce the kind of incredible pressure and force required to fossilize rock creatures. It is difficult to understand, amongst other arguments, how local flooding could have created such magnificent geological wonders as the Grand Canyon, which is a thousand square kilometers, filled with billions of fossils and obviously shaped by cataclysmic nature and force of water. However, evolutionary geologists are happy to conclude that over millions of years the Colorado River actually overflowed its banks!
